Linden E. Lyon Died Here Monday

Linden E. Lyon of Scott township died Monday, April 18, at his farm home in that community. He was 53 years of age.

Mr. Lyon was a native of Madison county, but lived 30 years in Seattle, Wash., before returning here in 1963. He was born here April 25, 1912, a son of Jacob A. and Viola Hope Lyon.

He graduated from Patterson high school. In World War II he served with the U.S. Army engineers in the Aleutian islands.

He was a wood worker by trade.

Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Viola Lyon of Winterset; a daughter, Linda Jean Lyon; a son, Gerald L. Lyon, both of Portland, Ore.; a brother, Forrest Dale Lyon of Booneville; and two sisters, Mrs. Audrey Woodruff and Nalda Lyon of Des Moines.

Funeral services were to be held this Wednesday afternoon from the Collins Funeral home conducted by the Rev. James Louks of St. Charles and the Rev. Jerry Oliver of Batavia. Burial was to be made in the Union Chapel cemetery.
