Survived by Wife and Six Children

George Albert Wells, son of Henry and Mary Wells, was born in Rock Island, Illinois, May 4, 1878. He passed away August 22, 1951, at the age of 73 years, three months and 18 days.

At the age of two his parents moved to a farm north of Exira, where he spent his youth. He was united in marriage to Olga Jensen on November 25, 1903, at Exira, Iowa. To this union were born seven children, four boys Gerald, Russell, Mervin and Glen, all of Dexter, three daughters, Mrs. Florence Lenocker of Dexter, Mrs. Doris Keating of Peru and Mrs. Dorothy Lanning deceased. There are 14 grandchildren and six great grandchildren, many of whom reside in the Dexter community. Also surviving are two brothers, Lenny and Royal and two sisters, Eunice Guy and Flora Dunphey.

In the year of 1909 he and his family emigrated to Cudworth, Saskatchewan, Canada, where they resided for five years.

In 1915 he and his family returned to Iowa making their home near Winterset for several years. From there he moved with his family to this community where he resided until the time of his death.

He was a member of the Presbyterian church, also a member of both the Odd Fellow and Rebekah Lodges.
