Thomas Coffman Died at 78 Years

Retired Farmer Had Lived Entire Life in Webster Township

Thomas E. Coffman, a well-known farmer and long-time resident of Webster township, died Wednesday, March 16, at a Winterset nursing home. He was 78 years of age.

Mr. Coffman was born in Webster township Aug. 1, 1887, son of Isaac and Mary Scarbrough Coffman. His entire life was spent in Madison county. He was a member of the Oak Grove E.U.B. church.

Mr. Coffman was married April 3, 1910, to Myrtle Smith, who preceded him in death.

Surviving are a son, Elmer Coffman of Winterset; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Saturday from the Foursquare church in Winterset, conducted by the pastor, the Rev. Charles Updike. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
