Mrs. Rose Payne Died Wednesday

Life-Long Resident Dies at St. Charles; Aged 85 Years

Mrs. Rose Anna Payne, a life-long resident of Madison county, died Wednesday, March 8, at a St. Charles nursing home. She was 85 years of age.

Mrs. Payne was the former Rose Anna Haynes, daughter of George and Elizabeth Bales Haynes. She was born in Madison county July 19, 1875.

She was married in 1905 to Zenus Payne, who preceded her in death.

Surviving are four children, John of Pinole, Calif., Forest of Parker, S. Dak., Kenneth of Parker, S. Dak., and Fern of Marshalltown; several grandchildren; a brother, John Haynes of St. Charles; and a sister, Geneva Crawford of Osceola.

Funeral services were held Friday from the St. Charles Methodist church, conducted by the Rev. W. C. Trembly. Burial was made in Blair Chapel cemetery.
