Letha (Nelson) Noehren, 81, of Fort Wayne, Ind., died Sunday, Oct. 28, 2012, at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 3, at Ochiltree Funeral Service in Winterset with burial to immediately follow in the Lorimor Cemetery in Lorimor. A visitation with family will be held at the funeral home two hours prior to the funeral from 9 to 11 a.m., Saturday. Memorials may be directed to the family.
Letha L. Nelson was born Oct. 31, 1930, in Madison County, Iowa; the daughter of Guy and Lulu (Handley) Nelson. She retired in 1992 as Director of Nursing at the Ft. Wayne Development Center after 34 years of service. She was a member of the Holy Cross Lutheran Church. She was also a member of the VFW Auxiliary #4177, the American Legion Post 82 Ladies Auxiliary, and Amvets #55.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert; two grandchildren, Dawn Noehren-Weakland and Dylan Stieber; a great-granddaughter, Rebekah Goldsberry and a brother, Boyd Nelson.
Letha is survived by her daughters, Kristine Momper, Pamela Kokosa, Dottie Stieber of Ft. Wayne, and Shari Caldwell, all of Ft. Wayne, Ind.; her sons, Bruce Noehren of Omaha, Neb., and Robert Noehren of Ft. Wayne, Ind.; 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
