Obituary:
Wanda May Freeberg, daughter of Clifford Clinton Mullen and Opal Irene (Neidt) Mullen was born May 2, 1918 in Osceola, Iowa and passed from this life Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at Taylor House Hospice in Des Moines, Iowa at 94 years of age.

Wanda graduated from Osceola High School in 1936 where she was a member of Quill & Scroll. She graduated with a Normal Training certificate and taught in a country school for a brief time. On September 5, 1937, she was united in marriage to John Joseph Freeberg in Bethany, Missouri. They made their home in Truro where they raised their three children. Wanda was a division manager for Sears Roebuck & Co. at Merle Hay for nine years. She and John moved to Winterset in 1989; she returned to Truro after his death.

Wanda was a member of United Christian Church in Truro, Model Chapter #174 O.E.S., Jolly-Fu, and a volunteer at the Historical Society in Winterset. She was an avid reader, enjoyed fishing and cribbage and loved to dance and listen to "Big Band" music. Wanda was a sports fan of the Chicago Cubs, Hawkeyes (Steve Alford) and golf (Tiger Woods). Wanda was very proud of her family and was a devoted mother and grandmother.

Those relatives who preceded Wanda in death were her parents; husband; daughter-in-law, Karla Freeberg; and nephew, Kevin, in infancy.

Wanda leaves to cherish her memory: daughters, Karilee K. Freeberg of Bloomington, Illinois and Johnna (Don) Ekleberry of Truro; son, Robert Freeberg of Keota;, grandchildren, Elizabeth(Sam) McCowin of Taylorville, IL, Catherine (Jeff) Hirsh of St. Louis, MO, Sarah Slotky of Bloomington, IL, Angela (Kevin) Janecek of Washington, Shauna Lynn (Kelly) Smith of Wheaton, IL, A.J. (Erin) Freeberg of Indianola, Michael John (Jill) Ekleberry of Truro, Patrick (Jeri Ann) Ekleberry of Truro, Kristin (Dave) Heggen of Cambridge; 20 great grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren; sister, Fonda L. (Jack) Wetherell of Bellevue, NE; nephew, Timothy J. (Michelle) Olderog of Council Bluffs; great nephews, Ryan and Tyler Olderog of Council Bluffs; nephew, Dean (Edith) Elder of Chelsea; as well as other relatives and many friends.

Service:
Per Wanda's wishes, she has been cremated. Private graveside services will be at a later date.
