September 30, 2012Jeffrey D. Jones, 21, of Earlham passed away on September 26, 2012. Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 30th from 5-7 pm at the Johnson Family Funeral Home, 140 NW 2nd St Earlham. Funeral service will be held Monday, October 1st at 11 am at the Earlham Church of Christ, 535 NW 6th St. Burial will follow at the Union Cemetery in Patterson. Luncheon will follow the burial at the Earlham Church of Christ. Memorial contributions may be made to the Jeffrey Jones Memorial Fund, in care of Johnson Family Funeral Home, Box 246, Stuart, IA 50250. Jeffrey was born on August 14, 1991 to Greg Jones and Debbie (Drake) Mehmen. He graduated from Earlham High School with the class of 2010. He enjoyed working on and driving cars. He was skilled with computers and enjoyed working on and building them. Jeff always found an opportunity to learn and was in the process of studying the German language. Most of all, his passion was spending time with his friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents Doris and Leon Fitzgerald and Georgia Moore.
Left behind to cherish his memory at his parents: Debbie (Tom) Mehmen of Shellsburg and Greg Jones of Winterset; sister: Heather (Oscar) Ibarra of West Des Moines; step-brother: Kyle Mehmen of Waterloo; grandparents: Allen and Marilyn Drake of Patterson, Jim and Faye Jones of Winterset; step-grandparents: Ron and Sandy Weiss of Waterloo; nephew: Rylen Ibarra of West Des Moines; aunts and uncles: Larry Drake of Winterset, Rod and Laurie Wheeler of St. Charles, Gary Drake of Patterson, Doug Jones of Winterset and Melissa Berry of Winterset and a host of other family members and friends.
