John Patrick Monaghan, 44, of Park Rapids, Minn., died of a heart attack Saturday at home. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady’s Immaculate Heart Catholic Church in Ankeny. Burial will be at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery in Cumming.

Mr. Monaghan was born in Des Moines and had lived in Ankeny many years before moving to Park Rapids in 1993. He had worked in building maintenance and also managed a mobile home park for several years prior to becoming disabled with health problems.

He is survived by his wife, Sherry; a son, Michael, and a daughter, Michelle Monaghan, both at home; three brothers, Jim and Tom, both of Bondurant, and Bill of Seymour, Mo.; and three sisters, Betty Monaghan and Thelma Roush, both of Ankeny, and Peggy Herrington of Des Moines.

Arrangements are being handled by Jones-Pearson Funeral Home of Park Rapids.
