September 13, 1958 - June 20, 2012Valarie J. McDonald, 53, of Winterset, died June 20, 2012 at the Madison County Hospital in Winterset, Iowa.
A memorial service will be held 7 p.m., Monday, June 25th at Ochiltree Funeral Service in Winterset. A visitation will be held from 1 to 7 p.m., Monday, June 25th at Ochiltree’s, with family present to receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Burial will be in the Winterset Cemetery. Memorials to the family will be appreciated.
Valarie Jean Reed was born September 13, 1958 in Des Moines, the daughter of Richard K. and Bonnie (Green) Reed. Valarie attended school in Winterset and graduated in the class of 1977.
Her marriage to Mark D. McDonald took place in April of 1979 at the New Hope Christian Union Church.
Valarie was a member of the Winterset Jaycees and had worked at 4 Sons, Tim’s Club Café and Fareway.
Valarie loved crossword puzzles and reading the paper but her greatest joy was any time spent with family, especially her grandson, Kayne.Valarie is survived by her two children, Heather and Joel McDonald both of Winterset; twin sister, Vicky (Kory) Atkinson of Winterset; grandson, Kayne McDonald; nephews, Dillon and Noah Atkinson; extended family and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and infant siblings, Richard Jr. and Tina Marie.
