Anthony “Tony” Ray Bennett, 18, of Des Moines died June 11, 1998, at Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.

Funeral services were held Monday, June 15, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home Chapel in Des Moines. Burial was at Fairview Cemetery.

Tony Bennett had been a resident of Des Moines for the past two years, having moved from Winterset. He worked for Ted Lare Landscape Service.

He is survived by his fiancée, Angie Archer of Des Moines; his father, Raymond E. Bennett of Des Moines; his mother and stepfather, Deborah K. and Frank W. Carter of Winterset; one brother, Todd Bennett of Winterset; one sister, Wendy Bowman (husband Lonnie) of Winterset; two stepbrothers, Brian Carter of Cape Girardeau, Mo., and Brad Carter of Des Moines; one stepsister, Becki Carter of Des Moines; grandfather Bob Baughman of Iowa City; grandmothers Dorothy Cleland of Des Moines and Annis Jones of Murray; and great grandmother Rosa Baughman of New Virginia.
