Emmett Hartz, Booneville

Emmett C. Hartz, 91, of Booneville, died of complications of a stroke on Dec. 12, 1996 at the Winterset Care Center North where he was a short-time resident. Funeral services were Dec. 15 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Van Meter. Burial was at the Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery.

He was born in Milo on Aug. 30, 1905 to August and Augusta (Schroeder) Hartz. He married Marie Lenz on July 10, 1934 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Van Meter. He had been a resident of Booneville most of his life and was a retired farmer and a former board member of Heartland COOP at Booneville. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; one son; one brother; and one sister.

Surviving relatives include two daughters, Sandra Marshall of Colchester, Conn., and Twyla Hartz of Booneville; one son, Merlyn Hartz of Van Meter; and five grandchildren.
