Death of ROBERT L. SHAKLEE

Mr. Robert L. Shaklee, who has lived in the Patterson neighborhood for the past four years, died suddenly last Thursday, March 18th, at the age of 59 years. Mr. Shaklee was born in Des Moines county and lived for a number of years in the northern part of the state. Two years ago he was injured while on duty for the Rock Island railroad, and it is said that he has been in failing heath since.

He is survived by his wife, on daughter, Mrs. Cecil Broughman, of Austin, Minnesota, two sons, Dr. F. C. of Mason City and Ralph of Patterson.

Funeral services were held at the Methodist church, in Patterson, last Friday, and burial was in the Montpelier cemetery.

Robert Lindsey Shaklee

Robert Lindsey Shaklee was born in Polk County, Iowa, November 8, 1866. His boyhood days were spent in Warren County, where in 1887 he was married to Martha Overton.

For 19 years the family lived in Northern Iowa. Two years ago Mr. Shaklee was injured while on duty for the Rock Island railroad. Since this accident he has been in failing health. Death occurred suddenly March 18, 1926, at his home in Patterson, to which he had just returned to days before having spent the winter with his wife in the northern part of the state.

Mr. Shaklee was 59 years, 4 months and 10 days of age. At the age of seventeen he joined the Disciple’s church. The family have lived in this community for the past four years.

The deceased is survived by one brother, John, of Carlisle; his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Cecil Broughman, of Austin, Minnesota; two sons, Dr. F. C. Shaklee, of Mason City and Ralph H Shaklee, of Patterson.

These immediate relatives with four grandchildren and a large number of friends and neighbors will feel with sorrow the loss of a splendid father, a loyal companion and a good neighbor. Dr. F. Ce. Shaklee, Mrs. Cecil Broughman and John Shaklee were present for the funeral.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday afternoon from the Methodist Church of Patterson, by the pastor. Burial was at Montpelier Cemetery.
