Metro Page 7William L. McElwee, 85, of Quality Health Care Center, Urbandale, died of a heart ailment Friday at Iowa Lutheran Hospital. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick’s Church at the Irish Settlement near Cumming. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery in the Irish Settlement.
Mr. McElwee was born in Warren County and lived in Des Moines for 48 years. He was a retired pipe layer for Stroh Plumbing and Heating. He was a World War II Army veteran and was a member of Christ The King Catholic Church.
Survivors include two sisters, Alice Lose and Rose Croat, both of Des Moines.
Friends may call after 2 p.m. today at Southtown Funeral Home, where a rosary will be recited at 6 tonight.
