Funeral services for John A. Peterson, 72, of Lorimor, who died Mon., Aug. 27 at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, will be Thurs., Aug. 30 at 10:30 a.m. at Collins Funeral Home.
Peterson, a farmer and steel worker, was born February 10, 1917 in Madison County, the son of Albert and Gladys (Newport) Peterson. He married Fern Elizabeth Woodley May 20, 1940 in Grand City, Mo. They were lifelong residents of Madison County.
He is survived by his wife, Fern; son Larry Peterson of Madrid; daughter Joy Willey of Ankeny; three sisters, Nevona Lehman of Des Moines; Opal Bishop of Martinez, Calif.; and Ruby Kirk of Lorimor, and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela Lillie and one sister, Hazel McClain.
Burial will be at Winterset Cemetery.
