James Edward Lyman, Sr., Winterset

James Edward Lyman, Sr., age 62, died at his home in Winterset on September 12. A graveside service was held at the Winterset Cemetery on Sat. Sept. 15 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Bill Branson officiating.

The son of Walter E. and Addie (Brack) Lyman, he was born in North Carolina on May 6, 1928. He was married to Alma E. Morris but was later divorced. James was a truck driver and moved from Delaware to Winterset 7 ½ years ago.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter E. and Addie Brack Lyman, and his brother, Walter Lyman.

James is survived by his former wife, Alma Lyman of Winterset; his sons, James Lyman, Jr. of Winterset, John Lyman of Iowa and his daughters, Amanda Lenze and Sallie Lyman of Winterset, and Mary Higgins of Wilmington, Del. He is also survived by his brothers, John Lyman of Texas, Kenneth D. Lyman of Landus, N.C.; his sister, Annie Price of Kannapolis, N.C. and 8 grandchildren.
