Friday, July 21, 2006Darlene H. Eklov, 75, beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, relative and friend was called to heaven on Wednesday, July 19, 2006 at her home in Redfield. Funeral services will be at 12:15 p.m. Saturday at Hamilton's Southtown Funeral Home with burial following at Elm Grove Cemetery.
Darlene graduated from Winterset High School and lived most of her life on the southside of Des Moines, having moved to Redfield two years ago. She was a member of the Ft. Des Moines Church of Christ. For many years she was active with the PTA at Elm Grove, Maple Grove and Lovejoy schools. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, baking, and especially spending time with family.
She is survived by her husband Floyd of 58 years, her children Sandra Lint of West Des Moines, Janese (Ted) Ketman of Overland Park, Kansas, Robert (Kathy) Eklov of Norwalk, Marcia (Frank) Fees of Norwalk, and Kevin (Tammy) Eklov of Des Moines, her brother Phil (Bonnie) Clarkson of Waterloo, her nephew Jack (Judy) Clarkson of Arizona, eleven grandchildren and five great- grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, seven brothers and sisters and two infant children.
The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the family in her loving memory. We will hold you in our hearts with love.
