James M. Blair died at his home near Winterset, Dec. 9, nearly 62 years of age. He had lived in this vicinity for over fifty years, thus being widely known in Madison county.
Poor health had been his portion for several years, death coming after long suffering. Mrs. Blair and his two sisters survive him.
Funeral services in charge of Rev. Fye of Carlisle were held at Blair chapel Saturday, with burial in the adjacent cemetery.

James Miller Blair was born in Adair county, Kentucky, Dec. 10, 1858, and departed this life Dec. 29, 1920, at his home east of Winterset at the age of 61 years, 11 months and 29 days. He came with his parents from Kentucky in 1861, when a small child, and made this place his home with the exception of a few years spent in Nebraska and Colorado.
On Nov. 9, 1902, he was united in marriage to Miss Leula Allcox. He was converted and professed his faith in Christ several years ago and lived a good life and was liked by everyone.
He leaves to mourn his departure his loving companion, two sisters, Mrs. Millie Traster of Winterset and Mrs. Fannie Villiers of Hudson, S.D., several nieces and nephews and a host of kind and loving relatives and friends.
The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Fye of Carlisle, Ia., and old time friend, and the body was laid to rest in the Blair chapel cemetery.
