Eliza Carson was born Nov. 28, 1822 in Hyland county, Ohio, and departed from this world on June 23, 1920 at Truro, Iowa; age 97 years, 6 months and 25 days. In 1840, she was married to George Clevinger. In 1849 they moved to Burlington, Iowa. The rest of Grandmas' life was spent in Iowa. She and her husband moved to Truro in 1891 and lived there until October, 1918, when she moved to the home of her son, Albert, where she was when the death messenger came. Her husband died in 1908. To this union were born 11 children; 5 boys and 6 girls.

Mrs. Eliza Clevinger, an old citizen of Truro, died Wednesday, June 23, at the home of her son, Albert, south of town, aged 97 years. The funeral was held Thursday afternoon at the home of her son, conducted by D. A. White, and the body laid to rest in the Young cemetery.
