Velma Taylor, rural Winterset

Services for Velma Taylor, 85, rural Winterset, who died Wednesday, Jan. 13 at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center, were held Friday, Jan. 15, at Collins Funeral Home with the Rev. Dan Berry officiating. Burial was at North McDonald Cemetery.

Born in Madison County on Nov. 17, 1902, she was the daughter of William and Clyde Nancy Ryner Lull. She was married to Clifton D. Taylor on March 11, 1927 in Winterset and was a housewife and teacher in the country rural schools. She had also worked at Peterson’s Nursing Home in Winterset.

Mrs. Taylor was a lifetime resident and a member of the Town and Country club of Madison County.

Survivors include a sister-in-law, Hazel Phearman of Winterset.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and two brothers.
