Violet Osborn, Winterset

Graveside services for Violet Osborn, 93, Winterset, who died July 19 at the Winterset Care Center North, were held at the Winterset Cemetery July 22 with the Rev. Clarence Lautt officiating.

She was born in Knox County, Ill., on Dec. 23, 1893, and was a homemaker and an elementary school teacher in Illinois.

On Sept. 24, 1930, she was married to Jed Osborn in Winterset. She had lived in Winterset since 1928, coming here from Illinois.

Survivors include eight grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Osborn was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter and two step-daughters.

VIOLET OSBORN

WINTERSET, IA. – Violet Osborn, 93, of Winterset died of a kidney ailment Sunday at Care Center North. A graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Winterset Cemetery.

Mrs. Osborn was born in Wataga, Ill., and had been a homemaker.

Survivors include eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. today at Collins Funeral Home in Winterset.
