Lennie M. Pinckney, Des Moines

Services for Lennie M. Pinckney, 71, Des Moines, who died Oct. 6 at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines, were held Wednesday morning, Oct. 9 at the First United Presbyterian Church in Winterset with the Rev. David Bauer and the Rev. David Reeves officiating. Burial was at the Moon Cemetery at Macksburg.

Born at Sydney, Ill., on Nov. 4, 1913, she was the daughter of Joseph Edward and Lydia Stockwell Adams. She married Joseph H. Pinckney April 28, 1932 in Winterset.

She lived in Winterset most of her life but spent the past three years in Des Moines. She was a member of the Ft. Des Moines Presbyterian Church, the United Presbyterian Women, an elder in the church, a Grey Ladies volunteer and a lifetime member of the Presbyterian church.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Henry Leo Pinckney of Ackworth; daughters, Pearla K. Poortinga of Joshua Tree, Calif., Rose Ellen Wright of Reseda, Calif., June Marie Coon of Des Moines and Rebecca Anne Moore of Westminster, Colo.; a brother, Charles Adams of Winterset; a sister, Pearla Jones of Winterset; 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, four brothers and two sisters.
