JIM RINKERT, CRESTON

Jim Rinkert, 53, of Creston died Thursday, March 29, 2012, from injuries sustained in an auto accident on the Henry A. Wallace Road in Adair County, Iowa.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 3, at the First Baptist Church in Winterset with Pastor Mike Carlson officiating. The body was cremated following the funeral service with the cremains to be interred at the IOOF Cemetery in Indianola.

Memorials may be given to his family for a future designation.

Jim was born on May 10, 1958, at Winterset, Iowa to James and Rose (Wiedmann) Rinkert. He married to Susan LaVonne Johnson on Dec. 23, 2010, at Winterset. He was formerly married to Cheryl Bartunek. Jim resided in Creston for the past year, having lived in Madison County most of his life. He worked in construction through most of his life but was currently employed by Southside Redemption Center in Winterset.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Rose (Wiedmann) Rinkert; brothers, Bernard Rinkert and Robert Rinkert; and sister, Sandy Marie Rinkert.

He is survived by his wife, Susan Rinkert of Creston; children, Stacey Rinkert of Hammond, Ind., Jason Rinkert of Roselle, Ill., Amanda Sharp of Orient, Jeremy Conner of Winterset, and Mark Stout of Creston; brothers, David Rinkert of Winterset, Pat Rinkert of Prole, and John Rinkert of Winterset; sisters, Barb Rinkert of Hartford, Cindy Howell of Des Moines, and Rita Rinkert of Winterset; and eight grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by McCalley-Collins Funeral Home in Winterset.
