Otto Christensen, Truro

Services for Otto Christensen, 80, of Truro, who died Feb. 24 at his residence, were held Saturday, Feb. 28, at the Kale Funeral Home at Truro with the Rev. Doug Domokos of St. Charles officiating. Burial was at the St. Charles Cemetery.

Born Oct. 29, 1902 at Exira, Iowa, he was the son of Martin and Magdalena Jensen Christensen. He became a member of the Early Chapel Church near Winterset and attended Madison County schools. On Sept. 29, 1919, he was married to Esther L. Brobst at St. Joseph, Mo. He spent most of his life in farming.

Survivors include daughters, Loree Rockey and husband, Harry, Truro, and Marcella Hiatt and husband, Morris, Winterset; sisters, Martha Nellis of Earlham, Mary Johnson of Exira, Emma Christensen of Greenfield and Christina Peterson of Des Moines; 11 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, four sisters and three brothers.
