LINDA BERCH, Peru

Linda Berch, 47, of Peru died Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2012, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa.

Funeral services were held Friday, March 2, 2012, at McCalley-Collins Funeral Home in Winterset, with Pastor Scott O’Conner and Vallie Raines officiating. Her body was cremated following the funeral service. Memorials may be directed to her family for a future designation.

Linda was born on Feb. 12, 1965, at Lancaster, Calif., to Leo and Peggy (Underhill) Smith. Her family moved to Arkansas at the age of 5. After graduating from high school she moved to Georgia for six years and then back to Arkansas. On April 16, 1991, she married Robert Berch at Carroll County, Ark. Four years after their marriage she and Bob moved to Peru. She graduated from Simpson College in 2004 and had been a preschool teacher for I-35 School District.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Peggy (Underhill) Smith.

Linda is survived by her husband, Bob Berch of Peru; children, Tim Vincent Price of Augusta, Ga., Olivia Nicole Berch of Peru, and Emily Rachael Berch of Peru; and sisters, Vallie Raines of Oklahoma, Debbie Emerson of Oklahoma, and Cathy Gatlin of Arkansas.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by McCalley-Collins Funeral Home in Winterset.
