Death of MRS. SARAH DORR

Mrs. Sarah McKnight Dorr's death announcement was received here last week by J. W. Frankelberger in a letter from her brother Charles McKnight. The letter states that her death occurred on Monday evening, Nov 17th, at her home in Pasadena, Calif. Mrs. Nellie Fritz, of Long Beach, Calif., in a letter received Monday, told of her sister's illness; in the afternoon, a telegram from the daughter, Miss Alice Dorr, notified Mr. McKnight that she was suffering from a sudden attack of acute Bright's disease and on Tuesday the death message arrived from Frank Moore, Mrs. Dorr's only son.

Mrs. Dorr was the oldest child of Mr. and Mrs. W. W. McKnight, who came here sixty four years ago and established their home, which was a favorite meeting place for old and young people. The stone dwelling, now occupied by J. M. Robbins, was regarded as a mansion when Mr. McKnght built it and old residents of Winterset will recall the many brilliant social gatherings and informal good times enjoyed at the McKnight home.

Mrs. Dorr was first married to T. B. Moore, who was engaged in the mercantile business here in the seventies. He died in Florida many years ago, leaving her with a young son, Frank.

In later years, she entered the home of C. W. Dorr, after the death of her sister, Mrs. Laura Dorr, assuming the duties of a mother to her niece, Alice and her nephews, Fred and Eugene. Mr. Dorr died four years ago in Seattle, and since that time, Mrs. Dorr, Miss Alice and Frank Moore have lived in Pasadena.

The body was laid away in Mountain View cemetery, Pasadena, Calif. On Nov. 20th.

The sympathy of old friends of the McKnights will go out to the bereaved young people, as well as the sister and brother.
