Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at two o’clock at the Welch funeral home, for Mrs. P. L. Stanley who died early Sunday morning at her home at Hedrick, being 87 years old.
Rev. Cecil Latta preached the funeral sermon and Mrs. Peter Bock and Mrs. Arthur Marks sang three songs.
Mrs. Stanley leaves three daughters, Maude Roark and Ada Scott of Hedrick, Mrs. Lillian Weyrauch of Mitchellville, and one son, Dean Stanley of Colorado, six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Burial was made in the Earlham cemetery.

Alfretta Dean Stanley was born January 18,1855, the youngest daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Rolndt Dean, and died Sunday morning, February 8, in Hedrick, Iowa, at the age of 87 years and 21 days.
She was married to P. L. Stanley of New Sharon, Iowa, on April 28, 1880. They made their home in Earlham in 1893, and resided there until the time of Mr. Stanley’s death. Since then she made her home with her children.
She united with the Methodist church when 14 years of age and remained a lifelong member. Mrs. Stanley was a loving mother, devoted to the members of her family and always a cheerful person.
She is survived by three daughters, Maude Roark, Mrs. R. L. Scott, both of Hedrick and Mrs. Weyrauch of Mitchellville, one son, R. Dean Stanley of Colorado, six grandchildren and six great grandchildren besides a host of friends.
