ELI W. REEDER

Eli W. Reeder was born in Knox county, Ohio, Oct. 15, 1836, was married Aug. 9, 1858 to Rachel A. Starkey, at Bedford, Iowa. To this union was born eight children, all of whom have passed away, except Gertrude who is left to console her mother.

Eli W. Reeder enlisted in the Union army at Davenport, Iowa, Dec. 25, 1863 for the period of the war. He served honorably and favorably until May 25, 1865. Ten months of this time he spent in a rebel prison. He was a member of Co. F. 29th Iowa Infantry.

He died at 2:30 p.m. Nov 7, 1919, aged 83 years and 23 days. For many years he was a member of the Church of Christ and died a member of the same. The funeral was held at the home Sunday, conducted by O. P. Bellanger, pastor of the Church of Christ.
