Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Hamilton’s Funeral Home for Mary E. Purscell, 58, of 2556 S.E. Maury St., who died of a heart ailment Monday at Broadlawns Medical Center. Burial will be in McGinnis Cemetery in Patterson.

Mrs. Purscell was born in Artesia, N.M., and lived in Des Moines for 35 years. She formerly lived in Arkansas and had been a homemaker.

Surviving are her husband, James; a son, George Ashworth of Frisco, Texas; seven daughters, Ana Upperman of Des Moines, Frances Kay Dunn of Mayflower, Ark., Norma Love of Earlham, Patricia Akers and Shelli Clark, both of Winterset, Valarie Kerns of Huxley and Sandy Hathaway of Casey; a sister, Frances Short of Elk City, Okla.; a brother, Bill Ogle of Stamps, Ark.; 16 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Friends may call after 8 a.m. today at the funeral home.
