Luther N. Wiggins was born in the state of New Hampshire on July 17, 1848, and died at his home near Broadwater, Nebraska, on November 5, 1923, at the age of 75 years, 4 months and 18 days.

He was married on July 21, 1867 to Mary Jane Guwilliams. To this union seven children were born. Three children and wife passed away before the death of Mr. Wiggins.

The surviving children are Mesdames C. H. Skellenger and T. A. Penfield of this place, A. E. Wiggins of Seneca, Nebraska, and Wallace Wiggins of Washington.

Besides these, to mourn his departure, are 23 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Mr. Wiggins united with the Baptist church about 50 years ago.

He served his country in the 2nd New Hampshire regiment during the Civil War, and six ex-servicemen from the late war acted as pallbearers.

The funeral service at his late home was conducted by Rev. George C. Kersten of the Broadwater Presbyterian church. Burial was in Oberlin, Kansas.
