Mrs. Skellenger became a charter member of the Calvary Baptist church on her 30th birthday.

The family came to Morrill County in April 1909, homesteading northeast of Broadwater. The couple celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1936. Mr. Skellenger died in 1937.

Mrs. Skellenger had been a member of the Royal Neighborhood Lodge since 1908. In recent months, she had united with the Presbyterian Church in Broadwater.

The funeral service was held at the Broadwater Presbyterian church on October 24, conducted by Rev. Howard Osborne, of the Presbyterian church in Bridgeport.
