Robert Teather died at his home in Des Moines Tuesday and was brought to St. Charles for burial Thursday afternoon beside his wife who preceded him in death several years ago. Before her marriage, Mrs. Teather was Miss Alice Vertz and lived in and near St. Charles for a number of years.

Robert F. Teather of 1104 East Ninth Street Des Moines died last week. Many here will remember Mr. Teather as having barbered here several years ago. Funeral services were held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Hamiltons funeral home. Interment was at St. Charles.

Page 3, Column 7Pneumonia Fatal to Robert Teather
Robert Teather, 54-year-old Des Moines barber, better known as Bob Kunkle (sic) in the St. Charles community, died Tuesday of last week following an illness of pneumonia.
Mr. Teather was a former resident of South township and was married to Miss Alice Vertz of St. Charles, who is now deceased. He is survived by his second wife, a son from the first wife, his aged mother, Mrs. John M. Runkle; two sisters, Mrs. Alex Conn and Mrs. Gladys Mathewson.
Funeral services were held at the Hamilton funeral home in Des Moines Thursday morning of last week. Burial was made in the St. Charles cemetery.
________________________Coordinator's notes: John M. Runkle was the deceased's step-father, who married Mrs. Teather in 1888 in Des Moines per Polk County Marriage Records. Middle name taken from his Iowa Death Certificate.
