MRS. SAM WARREN PASSED SATURDAY

Funeral Rites Were Held on Monday from Winterset Church of Christ

Mrs. Sam Warren, long-time resident of this community, died at her home in Winterset last Saturday after a fatal illness of three weeks. She was 66 years of age.

Mrs. Warren was the former Mary Thurman, daughter of Christal and Amanda Thurman, and was born on Sept. 4, 1892, (sic) in Clark county. She was married to Sam Warren Sept. 4, 1892 in Clarke county. They were the parents of three children, all of whom survive their mother. They are Lester Warren of Lorimor, Orvie Warren of Peru, and Mrs. Orie Gle Hircock of Winterset.

Mrs. Warren lived most of her life in and near Winterset. She was a member of the Church of Christ here.

In addition to her husband and three children, Mrs. Warren is survived by seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two brothers, Allen G. Thurman of Murray and Kerrie Thurman of Santa Barbara, Cal.; and a sister Mrs. Lucy Durfey of Marshalltown.

Funeral services were conducted Monday from the Winterset Church of Christ, in charge of the pastor, the Rev. Tom Foglesong. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery. The pall bearers were Will C. Johnson, Fred Murrell, Ray Allen, Cash Gray, Cloyd Mills and G. D. Flood.
