Former Resident of Madison County Died in California
Relatives here received word of the death of Mrs. Hattie Florence Gray Snapp at her home in Long Beach, Cal. on March 6th.
Hattie Gray was the daughter of Daniel S. and Anne Starbuck Gray and a sister of the late Charles E. Gray of Ohio township.
She was born and reared to womanhood on the Gray homestead north of Peru in Scott township.
She had resided for many years in Long Beach.
Those whom she leaves to mourn her passing are her son Claude of Alberta, Canada, and one daughter, Mrs. Esther Petersen of Compton, California, three grandchildren and one brother, Lewis Morton Gray of Council Bluffs. She was an aunt of Mrs. Fred J. Ray and Mrs. Harry Smith of Winterset.
She was very attentive to her church work as long as her health would permit, and interested in the welfare of those near and dear to her.
Funeral services were held on March 8th, and her body laid in a crypt at Sunnyside Mausoleum, Los Angeles county.
