The deceased moved from his home state in the spring of 1882 locating just over the line in Colorado where he resided until a few years ago when he bought the Uriah Angell farm and moved into Jaqua township.

Mr. Allen had been in poor health for many months and his death was not unexpected. Last fall he developed a cancer on his thigh and for a time after having it removed he seemed to gain, but in a few months he took to his bed and gradually failed until the end came.

The deceased was a member in good standing of St. Francis Camp No. 5000 Modern Woodman of America and his widow will receive from that order the sum of $2000.

The profound sympathy of the entire community to the bereaved wife and family in this hour of their deep affliction.
