P. M. Pearson, Mr. and Mrs. Everett Pearson and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Pearson of Knoxville and Sammie Sirann of Indianola were here last Thursday to attend the funeral services of Mrs. W. A. Pearson held at the Ramsey-Richards funeral home. A number of Dallas Center people were also here for the services.

Mrs. W. A. Pearson, a resident of Madison county since 1857, died at her granddaughters home, Mrs. A. J. Longmire, at Dallas Center, May 3, after an illness of three days. She was 80 years, 6 months old.
Mrs. Pearson was widely and favorably known in Winterset. She was the former Polly Odessa Holmes, daughter of John S. and Elizabeth Holmes, and was born October 4, 1857, in Scott towship, Madison county.
She was married to William Allen Pearson, December 23, 1883. They went to Broken Bow, Neb., where they lived for five years, then returning to Madison county.
She and her husband were the parents of one son, Ellsworth Young Pearson.
Mrs. Pearson was a long time member of the First Baptist church of Winterset. Her husband preceded her in death four years ago.
She leaves to mourn her death, one son, Ellsworth Pearson of Dallas Center, two grandchildren, Mrs. Odessa Longmire, Dallas Center, Mrs. Roselba Stine, of Adel, one great grandchild, John Pearson Stine. She also leaves two brothers, John W. Holmes, of Winterset and Graham Holmes of Elida, New Mexico, and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Thursday from the Ramsey-Richards funeral home in Winterset in charge of the Rev. D. D. Fleshlman, pastor of the Church of the Brethren at Dallas Center. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery. The pallbearers were nephews of Mrs. Pearson: Fred Holmes, Ora Haines, Asa Armstrong, Lester Holmes, and Lloyd and Loren Jones.
