Silas “Si” Neal Davis, 96, of Booneville died Monday, Dec. 5, 2011, at Taylor House in Des Moines.

Services were held Saturday, Dec. 10, at Ernst Funeral Home in Waukee, with interment following at the Booneville Cemetery.

Si was born Sept. 17, 1915, in Letcher, SD. The family moved to the Booneville area when Si was a young man, where they farmed. On Aug. 6, 1949, he married Louise A. Davis. Si and Louise raised their family and farmed the family farm until he retired.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise; his, brother Raoul; and his sister, Harriet Tschantz.

He is survived by his sons, Ron of Macksburg and Ike of Prole; his daughters, Patricia Tonsi of Des Moines and Marilyn Carston of Mt. Juliet, Tenn.; his sister-in-law, June Gilham of Waukee, eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Valley View Village Campus or Taylor House Hospice, both of Des Moines. Please note on donations, “In Memory of Silas N. Davis”.
