Jerry Paul Adams, 74, of Des Moines, died Friday, Nov. 4, 2011, at Methodist Hospital in Des Moines.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Nov. 8, at Overton Funeral Home. Burial with military rites followed in the Linn Grove Cemetery in Prole. Memorials may be directed to the family.
Jerry was born in Martensdale, March 24, 1937, to Frank and Helen Adams, where he lived the majority of his life. He owned and operated Adams Brothers Skelly Gas Station with his brothers for 25 years. He also owned J&J Sweet Shop in Winterset and Golfarama in Norwalk. He was most recently employed by Advance Delivery, a job he loved and enjoyed each day.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Patricia Ann; and brothers, Jim and Frank Jr.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Marie; daughters, Marcy, Jodi Nicholl and Julie Stone; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
