JAMES RINKERT, WINTERSET

James William Rinkert, 72, of Winterset, died Friday, Oct. 14, 2011, at the Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Oct. 18, at the First Baptist Church in Winterset with Rev. Dr. John Shaull officiating. Burial will be in the Winterset Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to his family for a future designation.

Jim was born on Feb. 22, 1939, at Lincoln, Mo., to James and Zettie (Foster) Rinkert. On Dec. 21, 1955, Jim married Rose Marie Wiedmann at Winterset. He lived in Madison County most of his life and had been self-employed in the construction business.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Zettie (Foster) Rinkert; his wife, Rose Rinkert; sons, Bernard Rinkert and Robert Rinkert; daughter, Sandy Marie Rinkert; brother, Charles Rinkert; sisters, Anna Mae Pettit and Esther Rinkert; and grandson, David Patrick Rinkert.

Jim is survived by his companion, Lorraine Powell; sons, Jim Rinkert of Creston, David Rinkert of Winterset, Pat Rinkert of Prole and John Rinkert of Winterset; daughters, Barb Rinkert of Winterset, Cindy Howell of Des Moines and Rita Rinkert of Winterset; sisters, Mary Cooper and Bertha Rinkert both of Marshall, Mo.; 17 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by
McCalley-Collins Funeral Home in Winterset.
