Willard Criss Funeral Tuesday

A lifetime resident of Madison County, John Willard Criss, died Saturday, October 18, 1975 at the Veteran’s Administration Hospital in Des Moines. He was 80 years of age and formerly lived at 204 East Washington in Winterset.

Mr. Criss was born October 23, 1894 to Joseph Criss and Martha Cox in Madison County. He was a farmer and was also occupied in the trucking business. A veteran of World War One, Mr. Criss was a member of the American Legion, Green Rogers Post 184.

Mr. Criss was married to the former Ida Mae Algoe, who preceded him in death in 1954. Also preceding him in death were his parents, four brothers and an infant daughter.

Surviving Willard Criss are two sisters, Maude Bullin of Kansas City, Missouri and Isabella McBride of Berley, California.

Funeral services for John Willard Criss were conducted Tuesday, October 21, 1975 at 1:30 p.m. from Collins Funeral Home in Winterset, the Rev. Alan Parker presiding. Burial was made at the Winterset Cemetery with military graveside services.
