E. E. Cox Dies at St. Charles

Funeral services for Ernest Cox, a former member of the Madison county A.S.C.S. committee, were held last Saturday, Oct. 11, from the United Methodist Church in St. Charles.

Mr. Cox died Oct. 8 at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines. He was 82 years of age.

Ernest Edmond Cox was born Sept. 5, 1893 in Madison county, a son of James H. and Catherine Simms Cox.

On Feb. 27, 1917, he was married to Myrtle Nickle at St. Charles. Mr. Cox farmed just west of St. Charles for a number of years.

He is survived by two sisters, Mary E. Reither of Truro, and Bessie McDaniel of Jamestown, North Dakota.

He was preceded in death by his wife in 1970, and by four brothers, Eugene, Martin, James Franklin and John, and by two sisters, Becky and Bertha.

Officiating at the 2 p.m. service last Saturday was the Rev. Eldon Ringle. Burial was in the St. Charles cemetery.
