Services Held for Mrs. Johnson

The funeral for Mrs. Ethel Porter Johnson, 70 of Creston, Iowa was held Saturday, October 11, 1975 at the Keating-Lindsey funeral home in Creston. Rev. Ross Shinn of the Plymouth United Church of Christ of Orient officiated. Burial was in the Lorimor Cemetery.

Mrs. Johnson died October 9, 1975 at the Greater Community Hospital in Creston, after being transferred from an Omaha, Nebraska hospital only a few hours earlier.

Ethel Doris Porter, the daughter of Lewis F. and Mary White Porter, was born July 18, 1905 at Peru, Iowa. She graduated from Truro High School in 1925. She was united in marriage to George L. Johnson in Grant City, Missouri who preceded her in death, on September 3, 1975.

She lived in Madison and Union counties all her life and at the time of her death, she lived at 205 N. Vine, Creston, Iowa.

She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Mabel Davis of Long Beach, California and Mrs. Effie Tollenear, Des Moines, Iowa; and by a brother Frank Porter of Galesburg, Illinois.
