Death of Mrs. P. J. Swift

Crawford and Lee townships readers of the Madisonian, more especially those who are classed among the early settlers have a very kindly remembrance of the P. J. Swift family who lived in Madison county from 1875 to 1892 at which time they moved to Adair county. Mrs. Swift passed away on June 11th at Greenfield three days after being stricken with paralysis.

A number of years ago father and mother Swift moved to Greenfield to pass their declining years. They raised a family of eleven children, eight of whom are still living in Warren and Adair counties and are counted among the useful and respected citizens of their respective communities.
