A lifetime resident of Madison County, who worked as a farmer and was also employed by the United Food Market in Winterset for many years, Russell B. Day, died Tuesday, September 16, 1975 at Madison County Memorial Hospital. He was 65 years old.
Mr. Day was born March 7, 1910, the son of Ben Day and Jennie McCain. He was born near Truro, Iowa and on April 5, 1931 was married to Helen Cord in Des Moines.
A former member of the K. P. Lodge of Winterset, Mr. Day was recently employed by the Winterset School District.
Surviving Mr. Day is his wife, Helen, one brother, Virgil Day of Belton, Mo., and two sisters, Lydie Dodd of Newton, Iowa and Myrtle McCain of Colorado Springs, Colo.
Mr. Day was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.
Funeral services for Russell B. Day were conducted Friday, September 19, 1975 at 1:30 p.m. from Collins Funeral Home in Winterset, the Rev. Paul Hann officiating. Burial was made at the Winterset Cemetery.
