Beulah Green Services Held

Services were held last Friday for Beulah Green of New Virginia, who died at the Clarke County Hospital in Osceola last Tuesday, April 22. She was 76 years of age.

Beulah Green was born in Warren County on October 16, 1898, the daughter of Avory M. and Huldah McPherson Thomas. She was educated in the St. Charles schools.

Mrs. Green was affiliated with the Christian Church at St. Charles, and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Model Chapter at St. Charles.

Survivors include her husband, Lloyd Green of New Virginia; a son, Paul Downs of St. Charles; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Ruth Sole of Des Moines.

Mrs. Green was preceded in death by her parents; by her first husband, Cash Downs; and by one brother and one sister.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, April 25 at the United Methodist Church in New Virginia with the Rev. Clifford Kile officiating. Burial was in the St. Charles Cemetery.
