Funeral services were held here Monday for Gordon Martin of Winterset, who died last Saturday, April 26, at the Madison County Memorial Hospital. He was 73 years of age.
Gordon Martin was born at Barney, Iowa on June 10, 1901, the son of William and Carrie McGlasson Martin. He was married to Frances Murry at Greenfield on November 8, 1930.
A retired farmer and baker, Mr. Martin spent his entire lifetime in Madison County. He was affiliated with the Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Frances, of Winterset; and three sons, Philip Martin of Houston, Texas, Richard Martin of St. Charles, and David Martin of Martensdale. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren.
Mr. Martin was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother.
Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, April 28, at the Collins Funeral Home in Winterset, with the Rev. Eldon Ringle of St. Charles presiding. Burial was in the St. Charles Cemetery.
