Dies At 95 In Winterset

Julia Belle Simpson, a life-long resident of Madison County died Sunday at Madison Manor at age 95. She was born July 25, 1877 in Madison County near Barney, a daughter of Melvin D. and Nancy Hale Palmer.

Mrs. Simpson was married to Charles Simpson in 1896 in Barney. She is survived by a niece, Mrs. Charles Butterfield of Winterset and a nephew, Perley Palmer of Lucas. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles, her parents, two sisters and one brother.

The funeral was held Tuesday morning at Collins Funeral Home with the Rev. John Fink in charge. Burial was made at the Barney Cemetery at Barney.
