Charles William Day, 73, died last Thursday at his residence in Winterset. He was a retired restaurant manager and had lived in Winterset the past 28 years. Mr. Day was married to Fern B. Brittain in 1935 in West Des Moines.
Besides his wife, Mr. Day is survived by three children: Mrs. Doris Sayles of Waterloo, Charles Day, Jr. of Knoxville and Mrs. Shirley Caudle of Des Moines, a sister, Mrs. Stella Brown of Orange, California, a brother, Joe Day of Waukee, and eight grandchildren.
Mr. Day was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Herbert Day.
The funeral was held Saturday afternoon at the Grace Baptist church in Winterset, with the Rev. Lon Reising in charge. Burial was made in the Jordan Cemetery in West Des Moines.
