Allen Johnson Died Saturday

Allen D. Johnson, a resident of Winterset the last six years, died here Saturday, May 29 at the age of 53 years.

Mr. Johnson was retired after service in the U. S. Air Force in which he attained the rank of master sergeant. He came to Winterset in 1965.

He was a native of Worcester, Mass., where he was born, Oct. 6, 1917, a son of Carl and Johannah Carlson Johnson. He was married at Mt. -------, Mich. On May 14, ---- to Isabella Norman, who survives him.

Mr. Johnson was a member of the American Legion at Worcester, Mass., and a member of the Baptist church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his mother, Mrs. Johannah Johnson, of Springfield, Mass., two stepchildren, Mrs. Robert Howard, of Winterset and William D. Thurman of Port Huron, Mich., and ten grandchildren.

Funeral services were held this Tuesday from the First Christian church in Winterset conducted by the pastor, the Rev. Eldon E. Jandebour. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery with military rites.
