Francis C. McDonald, 76, of the 100 block of Hartford Avenue died of a heart ailment there Wednesday. Services will be held at a later date, with burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Mr. McDonald was born in Winterset and had lived in Des Moines most of his life. He was a retired custodian with Iowa State Bank and a member of Jordan United Methodist Church.

He is survived by a daughter, Betty Dunbar of Gulfport, Miss.; two brothers, Howard of Des Moines and James of Clinton; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife Zelda.
