MAXINE JENSEN, WINTERSET

Maxine Jensen, 92, of Winterset died Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2011, at the Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Aug. 20, at the Foursquare Gospel Church in Winterset with Pastor Terry Kerr officiating. Burial was in the Union Chapel Cemetery in Madison County, Iowa.

Maxine was born on July 24, 1919, at Madison County, Iowa to Leon and Wilda (McKibben) Morse. She was married for a brief time to Andy Robison until his untimely death. On July 14, 1949, she married Edward V. Jensen at Omaha, Neb.

Maxine had lived most of her life in Madison County and had worked as a beautician, homemaker and was a longtime daycare provider. She belonged to the Oak Grove Community Church, the Madison County Historical Society where she volunteered as a guide and was also a volunteer at the local care centers.

Maxine is survived by her daughter, Pam (Terry) Kerr of Winterset; sisters-in-law, Lettie Loper and Nadine Jensen both of Council Bluffs; grandchildren, Noel Kerr, Troy Kerr and wife Cristina, and Eric Kerr and wife Alissa; and great-grandchildren, Alyssa Goranson and husband Erik, Joshua Kerr and Michelle, Jessica Kerr, Adam Kerr, Emma Kerr, Mia Kerr, and Cassius Kerr.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leon and Wilda (McKibben) Morse; husbands, Andy Robison and Edward V. Jensen; son, Claude Robison; brother, Bill Morse; sisters, Muriel Lathrum, Irene Bankson, Grace Osborn, and Ella Osborn; and grandson, Brice Kerr.

Memorials given to the family will be directed to the Oak Grove Community Church or Care Center South Activity Fund.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by McCalley-Collins Funeral Home in Winterset.
